Recap: Week 10 | Grizz Gaming

76ers Gaming Club (GC) defeated Grizz Gaming, 101-93, in triple-overtime Friday night at the NBA 2K League Studio Powered by Intel in New York City. 76ers GC improved to 8-4 on the regular season, while Grizz Gaming fell to 5-7. With the victory,76ers GC moves into sole possession of third place and just a half game behind second place Pistons Gaming Team (GT) (8-3).
In the first-ever triple-overtime game in NBA 2K League history, 76ers GC‘s 101 points set a single-game league scoring record as they became the first team to eclipse the 100-point mark.
76ers GC point guard Ethan “Radiant” White led the way posting career-highs in both points (30) and assists (23) for his eighth double-double of the regular season and his seventh consecutive contest with 10-plus assists. Committing just three turnovers in the victory, Radiant improved his assist-to-turnover ratio in the regular season to 6.1.
76ers GC center Alexander “Steez” Bernstein scored a career-high 32 points, while also bringing down 10 rebounds, good for his fifth point-rebound double-double of the regular season. Steez’s 10 boards gave him 108 total rebounds for the regular season, tied for the third-most in the league.
 
76ers GC power forward Mihad “I F E A S T” Feratovic added another double-double with 13 points and a career-high 15 rebounds. Over his last five contests, the power forward is averaging 17.2 points and 8.6 rebounds. 
 
This was the first game of the regular season where 76ers GC had three players each record a double-double. 
 
A closely contested battle from start to finish, neither team led by more than six points until the final seconds as the majority of the contest was a one-possession game. The matchup saw 16 lead changes with the score tied 17 separate times. 
 
76ers GC connected on nine of its attempts from beyond the arc compared to just one from Grizz Gaming, and a none were bigger than the two threes made by 76ers GC shooting guard Rashann “ZDS” Petty and 76ers GC small forward  Antonio “Newdini33” Newman II during the first overtime. With Grizz Gaming starting to pull away, ZDS hit a three with 1:50 left to bring 76ers GC within one, while Newdini drilled a triple to tie the game with 24.6 seconds left.
 
In the third overtime, 76ers GC scored on their first three possessions thanks to buckets from Newdini, Radiant and Steez.
 
Grizz Gaming was led by one of the league’s leading scorers in small forward Mehyar “AuthenticAfrican” Ahmed-Hassan. The small forward dropped an NBA 2K League single-game scoring record of 84 points, shooting 40-of-55 from the field.
