76ers GC Announces 2020 Schedule

PHILADELPHIA — FEB. 28, 2020 — The NBA 2K League yesterday unveiled the league’s 2020 season schedule and announced that the NBA 2K League Studio is moving to Manhattan for the 2020 season. The NBA 2K League will occupy a 13,600 square-foot space located at 508 West 37th Street in Manhattan with a capacity of 200 people.
The new NBA 2K League Studio will feature revamped audience seating that reflects the circular competition format unique to the NBA 2K League, larger screens, a mic’d stage that will highlight the players and their personalities to viewers in the studio and watching on the broadcast, the Bud Light VIP Lounge, a streaming pod for guest streamers, and an additional studio for content capture.
The 2020 NBA 2K League season will begin on March 24 with the TIPOFF Tournament Powered by AT&T, where 76ers GC will look to clinch their third consecutive TIPOFF Tournament win. 76ers Gaming Club will play a total of 16 regular-season games. 76ers GC rivalry matchup comes in Week 1 against Celtics Crossover Gaming in Boston.
“I am looking forward to traveling to Boston for our first regular-season match-up against Celtics Crossover gaming. This match will give us a great pulse as to where we stand this season. Our team is stronger than ever with the addition of USERPICK and TuckerLocksUp our potential is endless,” Head Coach Jeff Terrell said. “Our Round-Robin event in Week 14 will be a true test to the work that we put in all season. Three games in one day is a feat but we are up for any challenge that comes our way this season.”
Select NBA 2K League teams will host round-robin events in their local markets, which is a new form of competitive regular-season play. In week 14, 76ers GC will travel to Washington DC for the team’s round-robin event which will feature games against Nets GC, Wizards District Gaming and Hornets Venom GT on Saturday, July 18.
All rivalry matches and round-robin games will count toward a team’s regular-season record, with the exception of the round-robin championship games. Each round-robin event will have a total prize pool of $20,000 with the winner of the championship game receiving $15,000.
During Week 8 on Friday, May 29, 76ers GC will compete in a highly anticipated doubleheader against Gen.G Tigers at 7 p.m. ET and T-Wolves Gaming at 9 p.m. ET. This will be the first-ever meeting between 76ers GC and the Gen.G Tigers, who the club completed a trade with in the off-season to retain Rashann “Scretty” Petty. This doubleheader will also mark the club’s first meeting with T-Wolves Gaming since falling to them in Game 5 of the 2019 Finals.
Weekly regular-season matchups at the NBA 2K League Studio will begin at 7 p.m. ET on Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays. All 23 teams will have five bye weeks during the season, including a league-wide bye week July 1-4.
During the 2020 season, the NBA 2K League will award $1.4 million in prize money across THE TIPOFF and THE TURN, the six round-robin local events and the NBA 2K League Playoffs. Additional information is available here.
On Saturday, Feb. 22, 76ers GC drafted Shooting Guard Michael “USERPICK” Albiter and Center Tucker “TuckerLocksUp” Henry. The two draft picks join a roster that already includes Center Alexander “Steez” Bernstein (protected), Point guard Ethan “Radiant” White (protected), Power forward Christopher “BreadwinnerLA” Lafanette (protected) and Point guard Rashann “Scretty” Petty (retained via trade with expansion team Gen. G). The team is led by Head Coach Jeff Terrell.
